As the world around us continues to change day by day as a result of the global pandemic, so must the way we both interact and communicate with our clientele in many areas of business.
GIS Journey is just one of these areas at Spatial Vision to have undertaken such a change, transitioning from a physical face-to-face delivery model, into an online delivery platform for our clients, in a relatively short period of time.
Here’s how we made that transition successful.
The tool aims to assist stakeholders in determining the location of Matters of National and Environmental Significance (MNES), or if other matters protected by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 are likely to occur in a particular area. Furthermore, the PMST tool is essential to implementing a targeted risk-based approach to compliance and enforcement with the Act.
Location intelligence can play a role in addressing many of these issues, but only if we work together.
Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (GKI) is essential to facilitating such collaboration, in integrating geospatial concepts, technologies and information with societal and technological change as part of a much wider digital ecosystem.

Prior to the pandemic, the Australian bushfire season made headlines around the world. Three months on and the devastation can still be felt as bushfire recovery efforts and financial assistance have slowed amid the health crisis. However, as Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews reassures, “we have not forgotten [those affected]”, nor have we forgotten the incredible sacrifices and tireless efforts our emergency services have made and continue to make in protecting our communities.

Our trainers Marcel and Rhiannan recently headed east to the picturesque town of Noojee to conduct a customised Introduction to ArcGIS course. Many fun times were had, and challenges, too, but the experience was positively memorable for both clients and trainers alike.
