Spatial Vision is a company founded in 1999 to work alongside like-minded organisations and government departments to solve their spatial, social and environmental challenges.

We’re guided by our passion and curiosity for what’s possible with geospatial and information technology, and work closely with our clients to understand their problems and find intelligent, engaging solutions.

Quality Assurance Certification

Spatial Vision operates a quality assurance system fully integrated with the company’s Business Management System (BMS). Spatial Vision’s BMS has been certified as compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 standard for the provision of geospatial systems, data and analysis services and products by Global-Mark Pty Ltd.

Climate Active Certification

Spatial Vision is certified as a Carbon Neutral organisation under the Federal Government’s Climate Active certification scheme. The scheme requires us to measure our carbon emissions each year. These emissions are then offset (via an approved scheme) resulting in Spatial Vision being a net zero carbon emitter.

Memberships & Industry Engagement

Spatial Vision is a proud member of the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC), and is actively engaged with the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) Committee of Experts, as well as geospatial societies, and private sector and academic networks. A foundation member of the Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA|GITA), and an active supporter of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), Spatial Vision is now a member of the newly formed Geospatial Council of Australia, Australia’s peak body for the spatial sciences.

Spatial Vision is a proud member of the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC). The WGIC is an association of companies representing the entire ecosystem of geospatial industry.

Spatial Vision is a business member of the peak body representing the interests of organisations and individuals, including new and emerging professionals working in the vast range of occupations for surveying, space and spatial in the digital world.

Spatial Vision is a member of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) Private Sector Network, The network aims to promote the use of geospatial information globally to address the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Spatial Vision is a member of the Australian Water Partnership supporting climate-resilient water management across the Indo-Pacific region.

2024:
Cameron Selkrig Appointed CEO
Cameron Selkrig appointed CEO to lead the organisation forward in its 25th year of operation.
2023
Victoria’s 4.1 million land parcels digitised
After 3 years Spatial Vision dedicated team completes the significant Adjustment Services stage of the State’s ground-breaking Digital Cadastre Modernisation project.
2020
Lapis IT Business Launched
Spatial Vision expanded their IT services capability with the launch of a new brand Lapis to better serve the increasingly complex needs of both public and private sector organisations.
2019
20 years of making a difference
In 2019, Spatial Vision celebrated 20 years of operation, and of making a difference for both our clients and staff.
2017
Spatial Vision Becomes Wholly Staff-Owned
After helping to set up the company in 1999, RMIT University divested its shares in Spatial Vision.
2012
Mapscape Released
The digital companion topographic map product, Mapscape, was released in 2012 and was adopted by almost all emergency services.
2006
First VicMap Book Published
Commenced publication of the very successful Vicmap Book series of topographic map books for emergency service use in 2006.
2005
Partnership with Victorian Emergency Services Established
Established a three way partnership between SV, the (then) Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment and Country Fire Authority to produce a single set of topographic map products for use by emergency services organisations across the State.
2000
Glenn Cockerton Appointed CEO
Glenn Cockerton was appointed the company’s inaugural Chief Executive in 2000. The company grew steadily through much of it’s first decade, expanding its client base across government and into the private sector.
1999
Spatial Vision is Founded
Spatial Vision was established in June 1999 by five founding staff with the assistance of RMIT University. It commenced operations shortly thereafter working on a range of projects for mainly Victorian Government clients in the land, fisheries, natural resource and emergency management domains.
