As a LiDAR data service and spatial imagery provider for the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Spatial Vision has access to Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP) data to assist in your projects. CIP is available in two formats, the multi-resolution DEM data and Vicmap aerial photography.
The LAS point cloud data of the ‘raw’ LiDAR data
Digital Elevation Models (DEMS) derived from the point cloud
Contours at 0.5 metre intervals derived from the DEM
Recent LiDAR Data
The data was captured between November 2017 and October 2018 with a horizontal accuracy of 0.2m and vertical accuracy of 0.1m. The average point density is 8 points per square meter.
Imagery
Spatial Vision is also a provider of imagery from the Coordinated Image Program and has access to imagery from the program stretching back to 2006 with imagery in the Melbourne metro area captured annually.
Over the years, the cost of imagery has reduced while the resolution has improved. Standard image capture resolution in urban areas is 10cm or better while rural areas are commonly captured at 20cm.
Adding Value to Your Projects
As well as supplying this data, Spatial Vision is able to undertake value adding such as
- Visualisation
- Joining tiles to create DEMS over large areas
- Generation of contours
- Shadowing and viewshed analysis
- Feature extraction and analysis of historical aerial imagery of Melbourne from the 1930s
