Spatial Vision, along with our partners Reeds Consulting and Collier Geodetic Solutions were awarded the contract to undertake the Adjustment Services 2 (AS2) phase of DELWP’s Digital Cadastral Modernisation (DCM) Project.
This project will see the creation of a spatially accurate digital map of parcel boundaries based on surveyed measurements controlled by the state’s network of permanent survey marks. The project aims to improve accuracy of the digital cadastre toward 0.1m in urban areas and 0.5m in rural areas.
When complete, the DCM Project will facilitate the submission of survey plans as digital documents which can be efficiently integrated into Victoria’s cadastral fabric. In addition, changes to other datasets dependant on the cadastral map base (such as crown land tenure, administrative boundaries and planning schemes) will also be automated to generate significant productivity improvements.
The AS2 phase of the project requires a variety of skills which together the partners bring to the project. Spatial Vision is managing the project and developing a suite of tools to undertake the complex adjustment process. Phil Collier is a nationally recognised expert on geodetic adjustment and was instrumental on developing the Dynadjust tool on which the adjustments tools will be based. We welcome Phil as our adjustment expert. Reeds Consulting brings a wealth of cadastral surveying experience to the team which allow us to make sound decisions about the many cadastral surveying issues that we anticipate encountering in the course of the project.
As a consortium we are excited to be working with DELWP with this project, and look forward to the opportunity to make Victoria a leader in this space. Our team will be undertaking all work associated with this project in Melbourne. The skilled resources that we will develop through the course of this three year project will be essential to the next generation of surveying and cadastral mapping in Australia.
