Our Water Wins Award

Spatial Vision in partnership with NSW DPI Water won the NSW Spatial Excellence Award for People & Community for Our Water.

Our Water is an interactive web platform designed to inform the community about the State’s water resources. The website was built by Spatial Vision for the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Water.

The Our Water platform won a spatial excellence award as it was considered an exemplar of how spatial technologies can effectively deliver powerful user focused stories. This site allows complex and large volumes of data to be harvested and presented in a clear and simple manner. The technology solution and outcome also provides an excellent example of how a cloud based initiative allows the broadest possible number of users to access diverse information in an intuitive and informative environment.

Launched by NSW Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Water, Kevin Humphries in February 2015, Our Water (ourwater.nsw.gov.au) demonstrates excellence by leveraging spatial visualisation technology to translate complex technical data into readily understandable information for the community, particularly local communities, comprising farmers, recreationists, students, residents, and interest groups.
