2018 Water Industry GIS Capabilities Survey

Spatial Vision is conducting the 2018 Water Industry GIS Capabilities survey. In 2002, Spatial Vision completed the first GIS Capabilities Survey of Water Authorities in Victoria. Spatial Vision has since followed this up with national surveys in 2006 and 2009.

The purpose of the survey is to enable each authority to benchmark their operational deployment of this technology against their industry counterparts and assist the water industry across Australia in achieving efficient operation and services delivery using GIS.

The purpose for the benchmark survey is to enable each participating water authority to:

■             benchmark their operational deployment of GIS capabilities against their industry counterparts

■             identify gaps and thus possible opportunities for improvements

■             assess awareness and level of adoption of sector-wide “good practice”.

After nearly 10 years since the last survey, Spatial Vision is again offering to support water authorities in benchmarking their current GIS capabilities. Hence, we are launching the 2018 Water Industry GIS Capabilities Survey, with an aim to have the report ready in December 2018. All organisations that participate will receive a free copy of an industry benchmark report relevant to them.
